• sherlock’s hands are cold most of the time and john’s are warm. so when he’s not wearing gloves he gets john to warm his hands up with is and when he is feeling mischievous, up the back of john’s shirt or down his neck and john calls him a sod and a bastard to which sherlock grins and kisses him on the cheek

• sherlock’s feet are cold most of the time and when they’re sat on the sofa he warns them up by stuffing them under john’s thigh and bum and wiggles his toes, which gets him a light swat on the shin, where john’s hand settles and rubs absent mindedly with his thumb

• when they’re in bed, particularly when he’s stayed up a little later than john, he warms them up by pressing his icicle toes in between john’s legs or on the back of john’s calves so john starts suddenly and mumbly and half asleep mutters “oi ya sod, g’t ooff” and turns around to face sherlock and sherlock presses up to john’s chest and puts his nose in the crook of his neck and lets out a big breath and hums contededly as john (always) puts his legs on top of sherlock’s cold feet to warm em up because he’s a great boyfriend and sherlock holmes is a very lucky man
