The way Sherlock’s tension dissolves when John joins him on that sofa is beautiful. The genuine joy on his face when he and John burst into laughter together is moving. It was so awful for him before John arrived, but John showed up and now it’s fun. A joy. A friend, a companion. Someone who loves him and supports him, even when he’s made himself ridiculous. Makes all the difference. This moment is a microcosm for their entire dynamic. One of many very beautiful ones.
